Why learn French?

If you landed on our website, you probably looked up for French classes… You might be thinking of learning a new language, starting a new activity, or looking to keep your children busy after school. Whichever it is, we definitely have something to offer you. But first, let’s look at all the reasons you should definitely book your French classes !

Your job

In today’s world, speaking one foreign language is not enough. People who speak several languages will increase their chances of finding a job, whether at home or abroad.

France is currently the world’s fifth-largest economy.

So the ability to speak French and English is a real advantage on the international job market (retailing, automotive, luxury goods, aeronautics, etc.). Speaking French can open the doors of many multinational companies, and be a real plus during a job interview.

Your holidays

French is, along with English, the only language spoken on all five continents.

More than 220 million people speak French on all the five continents. It has official-language status in 29 countries and it’s one of six official languages of the UN. So not only speaking French will be handy for your holidays in France, but also in Africa, Switzerland, Canada, Monaco, the Seychelles and many other places!

The ability to speak even a little French makes it so much more enjoyable to visit Paris and all the regions of France (from the mild climes of the Cote d’Azur to the snow-capped peaks of the Alps via the rugged coastline of Brittany), and offers insights into France’s culture and way of life. French also comes in handy when travelling to French-speaking parts of the world.

After English, French is the most-learned language worldwide. It also means that by learning French you can communicate not just with native French speakers, but other people like yourself who have studied French. You might be surprised how many people you can talk to, even in countries where neither English nor French is an official language!

Your brain

Learning a language is like opening a new window on the world.

You will develop a new way of thinking and a new perspective, open your mind and travel… while staying in our classroom !

France is often considered the language of culture. Our French classes are not only about vocabulary and grammar, but also a cultural journey into the worlds of fashion, gastronomy, the arts, architecture and science. Discover great French writers such as Victor Hugo or Marcel Proust and famous poets like Charles Baudelaire. Watch French films with Alain Delon or Juliette Binoche, and enjoy the words of French songs sung by Édith Piaf or Charles Aznavour !

Having fun, taking time for yourself

Apart from discovering a new way of thinking, great culture, and being able to travel around the world, learning a language is simply good for you!

Learning a second language helps improve brain function regardless of when you start. It improves your concentration, problem-solving skills, memory abilities, and can even delay Alzheimer’s and dementia.

French is also a good base for learning other languages, especially Roman languages (Spanish, Italian, Portuguese and Romanian) and you will even rediscover English, since a significant percentage of English vocabulary is derived from French!

Last but not least, our students will tell you that our classes are always fun ! So take a break in your week to spend two hours just for yourself, to laugh, and to learn!
